What are Taxes & Fees?

Taxes & Fees are applicable sales, value-added or regulatory taxes, fees, duties, charges, surcharges levied on the provision of services to customers. Every country has their own laws and regulations around them and it is down to the Supplier and Resellers how to display and handle them.

Redeam Central allows the Supplier to set up their taxes and assign them during offer creation. Once that is completed, the Reseller receives the rates and tax amounts and can choose to display or not depending on their requirements.

Creating a Tax / Fee

From the Pricing & Inventory menu on the left, select the Taxes & Fees tab and select +Add Taxes & Fees.

 

In the Taxes & Fees screen, add the following information:

Name: Name of the tax / fee 

Type: define the tax / fee to be a Tax, Fee or Other

Rate: select flat or a percentage and the tax / fee amount

Calculation: the tax / fee will be calculated as exclusive unless Include in Pricing is selected

Rule

  • Independent: this will be calculated over the net price of the ticket value
  • Compounded: this is calculated on the net price or the ticket value and previously added taxes / fees. For example: a country charges VAT on the product as well as the service charge. In this case you would add the service charge first and then VAT as the second tax. The calculation would be: ticket price + service charge = x, VAT would be calculated for x not just the ticket price

Please note that the order of the tax assignment is important when trying to achieve a tax on tax calculation.

Application: defaults to per person. This means each ticket price will have the tax / fee applied

Select Save.
