Options are add-ons to Products creating an Offer
What are Options?
Options cannot be sold without a product, they are additional services that are sold as an offer combined with a product. There can only ever be one option assigned to an offer, but they can be used for several offers at the same time with different products.
Examples
- Lunch
- Audio Guide
- Beverage
What you need to set up an Option
- Traveler Type
Creating an Option
From the Product menu on the left, select the Options tab and click +Add Option.
Add a Name, the Traveler Types and a Description.
Location: optional. If No is selected, the option will share the location of the product. Example: a walking tour operator offers products with a lunch option in 5 European cities. The lunch option can be used for all 5 products, however, if a location was added, 5 options with the walking tours city would need to be created.
Schedule: optional. If No is selected, the option will adopt the schedule of the product when adding pricing and inventory. If the option has its own schedule, the option schedule applies to the offer. Example: lunch option that has a start time of 12:30pm, when combined with the product that has start times of 8am, 10am and 12pm, would in fact only have the start time of 12:30pm and not the other 3. Unless you chose to use the product schedule for the offer when making the offer a combination of product and option.
Policy: optional. Used when the option and the product have different cancellation, refund and booking cutoff policies. Example: the product requires to be canceled 48 in advance, whereas the product only has 24 hrs. Please note that at offer creation, you get the choice to pick the policies from either the product or the option.
Pricing: optional. If the option has its own pricing, for example lunch, it will get added to the product price when combined in an offer. Alternatively if No is selected, you may want to increase the offer price to include both option and product pricing.
Capacity Type
- Freesale: unlimited number of tickets to sell. Products like a Wildlife Park or a historic monument like Statue of Liberty cannot sell out, regardless of the traveler type
- Limited - Pooled: there is a defined max capacity, once it is reached, the products like safaris and concerts can sell out
- Limited - Per Traveler Type: the max capacity is set on each traveler type, once it is reached, the product for this traveler type is sold out. This could be used for a cruise which is equipped with an amount of adult life jackets and only half the amount of child sized like jackets
